Jenni Miller-James

Jenni has a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a master’s degree in social work.

Internationally educated in India, Mexico, California, and Hawaii, she has thousands of hours of experience and training in massage therapy, yoga instruction, and mindfulness. She is now incorporating that experience into developing a mindfulness-based psychotherapy practice that uses somatic approaches for engagement of the body in healing and trauma processing. This research-supported practice is becoming more common, and she is proud to offer it in her hometown of Chico, CA.

Jenni’s interests include the cultural and historical aspects of healing and bodywork, gardening, craft beer, poetry, meditation, and making smoothies with her toddler.

What makes a session with Jenni unique?

Trained in a wide range of healing modalities, her philosophy incorporates evidence-based and traditional techniques that best support clients in their individual healing processes. No two clients’ healings paths will be alike.

Some modalities in a session may include: Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, massage and bodywork, Yoga, and somatic engagement exercises.

Jenni is also trained in perinatal mental health and frequently works with pregnant individuals and new parents.

You may also find her teaching at various schools and organizations in the Chico area, including Chico Massage School, Wildwood Perinatal Collective, and Prana Endura Wellness Center.
